Below are the ingredients* in Rio’s Relief Balm and Oil and Halo’s Healing oil along with a description of what each ingredient is best known for by its proponents. All of our products consist of ingredients that are derived from organic herbs and therapeutic-grade essential oils such as:
Arnica — Used for bruises, sprains, muscle aches and pains, and reducing inflammation from broken bones
Birch (Rio’s Relief Oil only) — Has been known to help arthritis, reduce swelling, and joint discomfort
Calendula — Used to fight viruses and bacteria, may help wounds heal faster and help grow new body tissue
Cedarwood — May relieve itching, calm and soothe nerves
Comfrey — Can be applied to treat wounds, heal bruises, pulled muscles and ligaments, fractures, sprains and strains, and help new skin cells grow
Frankincense — Arthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) – Research by Cardiff University scientists found that frankincense can inhibit the production of key inflammatory molecules, helping prevent the breakdown of the cartilage tissue that causes these conditions
Lavender — May reduce insomnia, anxiety, stress, treat fungal infections, wounds, and joint and muscle pain
Lemon Balm — Historically known to reduce stress and anxiety, promote sleep, and improve appetite

The Birth of Rio’s Balm
Rio’s Relief Balm and Rio’s Relief Oil were created with love to help my beautiful horse Rio with his severe arthritis. I adopted him through the holistic horse rescue I was running at the time. Rio was 14 when I adopted him, and by the age of 18 his arthritis and past injuries had taken their toll on him. Sadly, I was on the verge of helping him cross over. Thankfully, the balm and oil changed everything!!
Within a week, Rio went from barely being able to walk, to trotting around the field with his herd buddies! To me – it was a miracle! After seeing his great results, we started using it on all the horses at the rescue. That was the “Birth of the Balm” back in 2011. Rio managed to reach the age of 28 before he crossed the rainbow bridge in 2021. Thanks to the balm and oil, I was blessed to have him in my life for 10 more wonderful years.
Inflammation comes in all shapes and sizes. After seeing what the balm and oil did for Rio, all the volunteers at the rescue wanted to start using it for their own health issues. BT Naturals products have had great results with many different health issues.
